A CAR dumped and set alight was so badly damaged by fire that crews were unable to determine its make or model.

The vehicle was found alight on a remote farm track on Sunday night with crews from Thorne fire station struggling to reach the scene of the incident along a narrow country road.

The car had been dumped and torched on a track near Green Lane, Hatfield. Officers spent more than an hour putting out the flames and damping down the blaze using hose reel jets.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious.
