A CAR caught fire in a mechanics garage yesterday evening.

Fire crews from Thorne were called out to a garage in Kirton Lane in Stainforth following a phonecall from one of the mechanics.

Firefighters spent 15 minutes putting out the blaze just after 6pm. It did not spread to anything else.

The make of the car is unknown.

It was logged as accidental.
