BREAKING NEWS: Hunt for robbers as shop staff threatened at gunpoint

A PAIR of robbers, one armed with a gun, have held up a Doncaster convenience store.

Two men wearing balaclavas and brandishing a pistol and a crow bar burst into the Spar in Marlowe Road, Barnby Dun, threatening staff.

The duo fled with around £200 in cash and sped off in a silver Ford Focus, registration PE58 YKW. The number plates had been stolen from a Citroen vehicle in Thorne hours before the raid.

The robbery happened at about 10.10pm last night.

Det Insp Dave Mayfield said: “Thankfully no one was physically harmed, however the staff members were extremely frightened and upset by the incident.”
