BREAKING NEWS: CASEY-LYANNE KEARNEY MURDER TRIAL: Hannah Bonser gets 22 years
MURDERER Hannah Bonser has been jailed for 22 years this afternoon for killing schoolgirl Casey-Lyanne Kearney.
A jury took just over two hours to find Bonser, 26, guilty of Casey’s murder after the 13-year-old McAuley School pupil from Rossington, was stabbed in Elmfield Park in Bennetthorpe on Valentine’s Day.
Earlier jurors were instructed by the Judge, Mr Justice Cranston, that they had four options to consider.
There were whether Bonser, of Cusworth House, St James’ Street, Hyde Park, murdered Casey, whether she was guilty of manslaughter with diminished responsibility or manslaughter. They were also instructed that they could acquit the 26-year-old.
Mr Justice Cranston handed down the life tariff at Sheffield Crown Court.
