A PRIMARY school is celebrating after government inspectors ruled it had improved teaching standards.
Belton All Saints’ CofE Primary is now rated as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted, following a disappointing ‘satisfactory’ at its last inspection. The good rating is the second highest.
Delighted headteacher Sarah Groves said: “The main thing is that the hard work that goes on here and the quality of teaching has been noted, along with the involvement of our children in their own learning.
“We’re also pleased that the leadership team has been acknowledged as working together well, and I’d like to thank our parents for their support as we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
Every aspect of teaching and behaviour in the school was found to be of good standard by the inspectors. Pupils behave and achieve well, they said, and ‘almost all reach the standards expected of them nationally with an increasing proportion attaining higher levels.’
To improve yet further, the report suggests using school data to more closely monitor pupils’ progress, and setting work for pupils that matches their individual capabilities, while expecting them to take more pride in their presentation of work.
The governing body worked effectively to support and challenge the work of the school, Ofsted said.
Pupils are, said the report, ‘well prepared for the next stage of their education.’
