Police are appealing for information after a man died when his car collided with bollards.

A 60-year-old man from Maltby, who has not yet been named by police, died on Friday in Tickhill when his car hit a shop and crashed into bollards.

The silver Hyundai Trajet he was driving was travelling along the A60 Castle Gate towards Maltby and is believed to have left the road on its offside and mounted the pavement.

The Hyundai then hit a shop and crashed into a bollard at the junction of St Mary’s Gate.

The car has then crossed St Mary’s Gate and stopped against another bollard.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to it is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 125 of February 3 2012
