A Doncaster man left for dead in a hammer and machete attack in his own home has been discharged from hospital.
Gareth Bouse, aged 24, was in bed when three men broke into his home in Princess Street, Woodlands, demanding cash in the early hours of last ThursdayOne of his arms and a finger were almost severed in the attack, in which he was also struck over the over the head with a hammer and throttled.
Gareth was repeatedly punched in his face and almost lost an arm when he was slashed with a machete, which went through the bone.
He needed an emergency operation to save his arm.
The attackers fled with around £400 and an Armani watch they ripped from Gareth's wrist.
Gareth, a telecoms engineer, was given the cash by his mum, Sue, from the sale of one of her pups.
South Yorkshire Police said no arrests have been made yet.
