A MOTORIST arrested after a passenger suffered serious head injuries when a car ploughed into a fence has been bailed, police said this morning.
A 23-year-old man from Scawthorpe had to be cut free from a red Fiat Punto after it collided with steel fencing and a lamppost. The lamppost then crashed on to the car trapping him.
He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries following the crash which happened in Doncaster Road, Conisbrough, police said.
The driver. a 21-year-old Denaby Main man suffered shock and minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Inquiries are continuing and police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened at 10.40pm on Saturday. Call 0114 220 2020.
