Doncaster driver involved in serious accident

A 22-year-old pedestrian was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was in collision with a van driven by a Doncaster man.

Police are appealing for witnesses or information about the incident, which happened just before 8.15am yesterday on Grange Lane, Maltby, at its junction with Devonshire Road.

Both the red DAF box van, driven by a 37-year-old Doncaster man, and the pedestrian, who lives locally, were heading towards Braithwell when the collision occurred.

The pedestrian wastaken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital by air ambulance and his injuries are said to be `critical’.
