Doncaster Council has added 11 attractive new-build houses and apartments to its stock of 21,000 homes for rent.
The properties are at Trinity Gate in Finningley, a development by David Wilson Homes which also includes 33 houses for private sale.
The homes are: four three-bedroom houses, five two-bedroom houses, and two one-bedroom apartments.
They are highly insulated and include parking facilities, turfed gardens and high specification kitchens and bathrooms.
The properties have been purchased as part of Doncaster Council’s £10m programme to reduce empty homes in the borough.
They would otherwise have remained empty after the planned sale to a housing association fell through.
Peter Dale, Doncaster’s Director of Regeneration and Environment, said: “These modern, energy-efficient properties are an excellent addition to our housing stock.
“They will provide affordable homes for families and individuals who are excluded from the private property market by economic conditions.”
