DONCASTER College’s Hub is closed today after structural damage happened to a small section of the ceiling.
The incident happened at about 5pm last night and is believed to be near the college’s vehicle department.
Teachers are being advised to go to the centre’s High Melton Campus until engineers can carry out a safety assessment. Students are currently on their summer break so no lessons have been affected.
Ian Andsley,Estates Services Manager, told the Free Press: “We have had some structural damage on a small area of the ceiling, but we are closed today only as a precaution.
“It is a health and safety matter and we have people on site carrying out an inspection.
“We are assessing all the areas and making sure we do not have any major problems.
“We are hoping to get the college back open as soon as possible.”
If anyone is due to attend the college today they should call 01302 553 553 for further advice.
