Doncaster’s last council-run OAP care home have been transferred to private ownerships today.

A total of seven Doncaster Council run homes were originally scheduled to be closed, before a deal was reached to transfer then to the private sector.

The transfer was completed this morning.

A Doncaster Council spokesman said: “As of this morning (1 September 2015) the ownership of the council’s residential care homes for Older People (Rowena House, Oldfield House, Rose House, Stenson Court, Plantation View, Owston View, Gattison House) have transferred over to Runwood Homes.

“The Council and Runwood Homes are looking to mark this milestone with an event at each care home on September 10.”
