The Doncaster branch of Leeds Building Society is supporting Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign this winter by promoting the Charity’s Bobble Day, its winter fundraiser which takes place on Friday February 7. The branch, in Frenchgate, is participating by offering the bobble badges for a suggested donation of £1 until Bobble Day.

Laurie Boult, Head of Fundraising at Age UK said: “We are delighted that the Leeds Building Society Doncaster branch is promoting bobble badges both in the build up to and during Age UK’s Bobble Day on February 7. This winter 24,000 older people may not survive the cold weather – that’s 200 deaths a day that could be prevented[i] – all money raised from Bobble Day will go towards Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign helping to help keep older people warm and well this winter.”

Melissa Foulis, Leeds Building Society Doncaster Branch Manager said, “We are delighted to be supporting Age UK with their Bobble Day campaign. I am certain this campaign will catch the imagination of our staff and customers. The bobbles are available now in the branch, for a suggested donation of £1, and until Friday 7th February 2014.”

Local Age UKs and Age UK shops around the country are also promoting Bobble Day offering other ways for people to get involved. Contact your local Age UK or call 0800 169 87 87 for additional information on Bobble Day.
