AN EVENT for people to find out more about adopting children in Doncaster has proved to be a huge success.
A total of 24 potential adoptive families came to the session at the Doncaster Dome to meet the Council’s Adoption Team and some of the people who have already adopted.
This is in addition to 15 people who got in touch with the authoity recently during National Adoption Week.
Councillor Eric Tatton-Kelly said: “We were delighted with the number of people that came along and many of them are likely to go on to become adoptive parents with us.
“We currently have around 30 children waiting for loving families and it will be great if we can match some of them up with those who attended the event.
“I’d like to thank everyone who came along to find out more, as well as the adopters and staff who gave up their time to attend the event.”
Another adoption information event is due to take place at the Dome on January 16.
