Donations in memory of Haxey’s Emma Lifsey

Four-year-old Emma Lifsey.

Four-year-old Emma Lifsey.

ISLE folk dug deep to show their support to the stricken family of tragic rail crossing girl Emma Lifsey.

Donations in lieu of flowers, made after the private funeral for Emma, that took place at Haxey Parish Church, amounted to over £2,500.

The money will be divided between the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Four year old Emma, of Haxey, died after an horrific crash at Beech Hill Crossing, Misson Springs, on December 4 last year, when a train struck the car in which she was a passenger. She was airlifted to Sheffield Children’s Hospital but died a few hours later.

Her family has thanked everyone for their donations to the two funds it chose to support, following the tragedy.

Emma’s parents and close family have also extended thanks to everyone for their “kindness, massages of sympathy and cards of condolence received during our tragic sad loss of our little angel.”
