A GROUP of dog lovers completed a sponsored walk to help pay for the treatment of a poor puppy who has facial burns.
Representatives from Willow Dog Rescue decided to raise money for Jazz, a 13-week-old cross breed, who they brought in from a dog pound in Doncaster.
The pup has a burn on his face which may require surgery so a group from the centre organised the Walk4Willow trek last weekend.
The group walked 20 miles along the Trans Pennine Trail from their base in Station Road, Wath, to Dunford Bridge.
They managed to raise around £500, which they intend to use to pay Jazz’s vet bills.
Julie Drabble, co-founder of Willow Dog Rescue, said: “Jazz is a lovely dog. We don’t know how she got the burns, it may have been an accident, but the burns are quite severe.
“We are taking her to the vet to see what can be done. It may be that she needs surgery and hopefully the sponsorship money will cover it.”
