WITNESSES are sought to an accident on the Dearne Valley Parkway, that involved a motorcycle and two cars.
The motorcycle rider was seriously injured in the collision that took place at 5.30pm on March 1.
A black Citroen Saxo, driven by a 26-year-old Goldthorpe man is believed to have been in a line of standing traffic on the Dearne Valley Parkway, travelling towards Goldthorpe. An orange Ford Fusion, driven by a 57-year-old Thorpe Hesley man was reported to be moving in the opposite direction in free flowing traffic.
A black Suzuki motorcycle being ridden by a 55-year old Goldthorpe man towards Goldthorpe is believed to have tried to overtake the Citroen Saxo.
The Citroen Saxo is reported to have performed a u-turn in the road and struck the motorcycle, which was then sent hurling in to the opposite carriageway to collide head on with the Ford Fusion.
The motorcyclist sustained multiple fractures and was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital for treatment.
The drivers of the Citroen Saxo and Ford Fusion were not hurt.
