MEMORIES of the “laughter and fun” when three friends worked together at Rossington Hall were revived when they paid a return visit.

Lotty Robins, Hilda McCready and Wynne Espin - known as the Golden Girls - spent many years working as cleaners at the former Rossington Hall School about 50 years ago.

On Sunday, they were treated to a champagne high tea to celebrate Lotty’s 90th birthday and they looked around the site where they once spent so many hours.

Grandmother-of-nine Hilda, 83, of Rossington, said: “It was wonderful. The food was delicious and we had a lovely walk around the grounds.
“Actually, it hasn’t changed much at all and we were able to recognise the rooms enough to work out what they used to be used for. There was one staircase that we stopped by and pictured the times we’d watched Lotty get on her knees and scrub those stairs!”

Lotty and Hilda have been friends for about 65 years and all three of them meet up regularly. The high tea was a birthday gift for ‘Aunty Lotty’ from Hilda’s daughter Lindy, 59.
