Doncaster Little Theatre is opening its doors to new members on Tuesday January 24 at its first monthly Open Night of the year.
The Little Theatre offers a range of entertainment, both through its own productions, and those of visiting companies. With the award of a five year Lottery grant in 2010, the Little Theatre is growing in influence, and developing its activities in Doncaster’s outlying communities to improve access to the arts.
If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in Amateur Drama in Doncaster there’s never been a better time than at the beginning of a new year. We can offer members a wide range of opportunities for involvement in the theatre both on and off stage and no experience is required. There are more opportunities than ever for members to get involved on and off stage.
“As a Community Theatre we are always happy to welcome new members regardless of their skills and experience. All we ask is for people with a passion and enthusiasm for theatre and a willingness to make a positive impact on the arts in Doncaster.” says Luke Robson, Volunteers Manager at the Little Theatre.
The Enrolment Night will offer a taster of all of the activities involved in running the theatre, from acting to set building, technical to costume, an opportunity to meet other members and the welcoming and dedicated team of volunteers and staff who run the Little Theatre. You’ll find out what it means to be a member of DLT, see previews of future productions currently in rehearsals and learn more about the little theatre’s big plans for the future.
What better way to beat the winter blues, than to get involved in an exciting and fulfilling new activity? You can support the theatre with a house membership for as little as £10 or become an artistic member to be involved with any creative aspect of the theatre’s work. Artistic membership fees range between £25 and £50 for an entire year and include many benefits.
Members of Doncaster Little Theatre must be aged 18 or over, but our thriving youth section “Young Lit” is available for those under 18.
Come along to the theatre at 7.30pm on January 24 for the Enrolment Night. If you can’t make these times, ring the box office on (01302) 340422 and speak to Luke Robson.
