Volunteer wanted to help with offender management on South Yorkshire

Police chiefs in South Yorkshire are looking for a volunteer to take help oversee the arrangements in place to manage offenders in the community.

South Yorkshire Police and the Probation Trust, who are responsible for multi-agency public protection arrangements in the county, are looking for a volunteer lay adviser to join the strategic management board.

The board oversees the arrangements to manage sexual, violent and serious offenders living in the community.

The volunteer is not expected to be an expert on the arrangements and no formal qualifications are necessary.

They will be expected to be available for eight hours per month during working hours.
