VIDEO: Manhunt after sex attack in Doncaster car park

Police have launched a manhunt after a serious sexual assault in a car park near Doncaster’s busiest party street.

A 35-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a car park in Frances Street at around 1am on Sunday.

Officers have launched a CCTV image of a man in a bid to trace the man pictured who may hold vital information about what happened.

Detective Sergeant Andy Knowles said: “We would like to speak with anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV image, or who believes that they were in the area at the time and may have witnessed something that could assist with the investigation.

“We are committed to supporting the woman at this time to ensure that she has access to the appropriate care.”

The car park were the incident took place is connected to Doncaster’s main party street - Silver Street - by an alleyway.

Speaking about the incident a woman who works nearby who did not want to be named said: “It’s absolutely awful.

“I didn’t see or hear anything about it but I just hope they catch the person responsible.

“It’s frightening to think something like this could happen on your doorstep.”

The alleyway between Silver Street and Frances Street has been the scene of attacks in the past.

In the summer of 2013 a serial sex attacker touched a 15-year-old girl’s chest.

Meanwhile a mugger attacked a 71-year-old pensioner in the alleyway back in November 2005.
