Missing Rotherham schoolboy Joshua Oxley has been found in Leeds - around 24 hours after going missing
Joshua aged 12, was reported missing when he failed to arrive home from lessons yesterday.
Following a massive search, he was found safe in Leeds this afternoon.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “12-year-old Joshua Oxley has been found safe and well in Leeds by SYP officers.
“A massive thank you to all who shared the appeals.”
CCTV footage from Leeds railway station showed the Winterhill School pupil, from Kimberworth, arriving at Leeds station at 8.17pm last night and walking out the station.
Further CCTV was uncovered which showed Joshua at gaming shop Red5 in the Core Shopping Centre this morning at 10.45am.
Police said it was believed Joshua boarded the train at Chapeltown in Sheffield before travelling north to Leeds yesterday evening.
Police officers spent last night and this morning searching for the missing schoolboy.
Mountain rescue volunteers and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have also been involved with the search.
Supt Paul McCurry, from Rotherham District Police, said earlier today that Joshua’s disappearance was out of character and believe it may be as a result of a ‘minor incident’ at his school yesterday.
