A MAN accused of stealing cable valued at £5,540 from the railway line in Goole has appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court after he was tracked down and arrested by police last week.
David Jason Redmile, aged 41, from Princess Avenue, Stainforth, was remanded in custody until Thursday.
Redmile is alleged to have breached his bail after being arrested originally on March 28 and charged with theft of 545m of copper telecoms cable. When he failed to return on bail he was placed on the Police National Computer as wanted.
Det Insp Mick Jackson, of British Transport Police, said: “This arrest forms part of ongoing work we are undertaking with Network Rail.”
