Six men arrested for town centre robberies as CCTV appeal launched

Six men have been arrested after a spate of town centre robberies.

Between 8-10pm on Thursday 29 October, it was reported that three robberies took place in Doncaster town centre.

Six men have been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

The first incident is said to have taken place at about 8.45pm in High Street when a 35-year-old man was approached by the group as he withdrew money from a cash point. The youths attempted to steal the cash but were unsuccessful. The man was reportedly assaulted during the incident but was not seriously injured.

At about 9.30pm it was reported that a 19-year-old man was approached by the group as he walked along Trafford Way from the bus station. The man was allegedly assaulted by the men before his phone was stolen.

The third incident occurred as a 19-year-old man was walking along North Bridge Road at about 9.45pm. The group allegedly assaulted him and stole his phone.

As a result of the incidents, police have identified a potential fourth victim who was reportedly assaulted on St Sepulchre Gate opposite the Frenchgate Centre at about 8.20pm on Thursday 29 October.

Police want to speak to the man in the CCTV image who they believe could be the victim in the fourth incident. The man is described as wearing dark clothing and a dark coloured cap.
