Rotherham abuse suspect charged with historic threats to kill

A man facing trial over alleged Rotherham child sexual exploitation crimes has been charged with further offences including three counts of making threats to kills.

Basharat Hussain, 39, who is currently on remand at HMP Doncaster, has also been charged today with a further two counts of indecent assault and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He will appear before Rotherham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 21, in relation to the latest charges.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in Rotherham between March 2000 and March 2003.

Basharat Hussain is on remand already charged with 15 offences and is one of eight defendants charged with over 100 offences relating to child sexual exploitation in Rotherham as part of the Operation Clover inevstigation.

They will next appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, October 13, ahead of a trial scheduled to start in December.
