A police alert has been issued following reports of a man targeting youngsters in and around Crowle.
Parents are warned to be watchful following reports to the South Axholme policing team.
The male driver has been noticed travelling around the area and then stopping to talk to children and teenagers.
A police spokesman said: “Please make sure your children and teenagers are aware of the dangers of talking to strangers.
“Make sure they walk with friends, that they stick to well lit areas during the darker evenings and that they have a mobile phone with them.”
Anyone who sees anything suspicious should report it to police on the 101 number.
There has also been a continuing spike in the number of burglaries across the Isle.
Police ask householders to review their home security, and to make sure that doors and windows are locked at all times. Also secure outbuildings and garages as these have been targeted in some cases.
Anyone interested in combating crime by setting up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme is asked to get in touch with local police.
