Police have increased patrols in three crime hot spot areas in Mexborough after more than 20 incidents were reported in a single month.
Officers dealt with nine alleged anti-social behaviour and drug offence crimes in the Schofield Street and Garden Street area and five incidents of residents being noisy in Auckland Road.
They were also called out to deal with off-road motorbike riders and nuisance gangs in Victoria Park on seven occasions - all in the month up to early October.
Sergeant Melissa Gill told residents at the Partners And Communities Together (PACT) meeting in Mexborough Resource Centre that her team would continue to monitor the issues raised by residents.
She said: “We are aware of the problems in the town and have increased the number of officers working to tackle the issues.”
