A CHURCH graveyard near Doncaster town centre has been sealed off by police today.

However, South Yorkshire Police has refused to release any details about its investigation despite thousands of pedestrians and motorists passing the scene at Christ Church in Thorne Road.

A South Yorkshire spokesman told the Free Press: “Police are investigating an ongoing incident and we cannot release any more details.”

She would not expand on the nature of the allegation made and also refused to say whether any arrests had been made.

This lunchtime officers in a marked police car and van stood guard outside the main entrance to Christ Church near the mini roundabout in East Laith Gate, while police tape cordoned off other entrances into the grounds.
