South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information from the public on a cannabis growing operation.

Working on intelligence, officers from the Doncaster North safer neighbourhood team entered an address in Askern Road, Bentley, yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, March 25).

At the property, they discovered 44 cannabis plants with a street value of more than £12,000.

Nobody was present at the address.

Pc Michael Rowley said: “Thanks to information we received, officers have once again been able to remove drugs from the streets of Doncaster.”

“But while it is undoubtedly good news that these cannabis plants have been seized, what we now need is information from members of the public in order to bring those who were behind this set-up to justice.

“Please call us if you have any information that could help our enquiries.”

Call South Yorkshire Police on 101 with information, quoting incident number 323 of March 19 2014.
