South Yorkshire police and crime commissioner Shaun Wright continued his visit around the county with a walkabout in Penistone.
He visited Penistone Police Station where he met local safer neighbourhood team officers and spoke with them about the importance of policing rural communities.
Mr Wright then met youngsters at the skate park, visited Penistone Market, spoke with local residents and looked around the community centre.
He ended his visit by meeting young people at the Open Access Youth Centre, on High Street, who spoke about the good and bad points of growing up in quiet rural areas.
Mr Wright said: “One of my top priorities is to increase visible policing and, after speaking with officers and residents, it is clear to see why this style of policing is so popular.”
