“Mindless vandals” damage bus shelters

Police are appealing for help after “mindless vandals” caused £5,000 of damage to bus shelters across the borough.

Six bus shelters were vandalised in Doncaster across the bank holiday weekend.Three bus shelters were targeted in Bennetthorpe, one in Carr House Road, one in Station Road in Hatfield and another in Church Lane in Balby over the weekend.

Superintendent Eddie Murphy said: “These are blatant acts of mindless vandalism.

“£5,000 of damage has been caused that will ultimately come out of the pockets of passengers who use the bus service.

“Someone know who is responsible and it wouldn’t surprise me if the incidents have been videoed and posted on Facebook.” Contact police on 101 with information.
