Police have increased officer patrols in three crime hot spot areas in a Doncaster town after more than 20 incidents were reported in a single month.
Officers dealt with nine alleged anti-social behaviour and drug offence crimes in the Schofield Street and Garden Street area, along with five incidents of residents being noisy in Auckland Road.
They were also called out to deal with off-road motorbike riders and nuisance gangs causing anti-social behaviour in Victoria Park on seven occasions - all in the month up mid October.
Sergeant Melissa Gill told residents at the Partners And Communities Together meeting in Mexborough Resource Centre that her team would continue to monitor the issues raised by residents.
She said: “We are aware of the problems in the town and have increased the number of officers working to tackle these issues.
“These have been our PACT priorities for a while. If residents want us to continue in these areas then we will.”
No arrests were mentioned in relation to these specific issues.
Residents at the meeting agreed these areas should remain as priority areas for the next month.
