A Doncaster man has been sentenced to almost three years in prison for drugs offences committed in August this year.

Darren Kelly, 32 of Shaw Road, Edlington, appeared for trial at Doncaster Crown Court on Thursday, December 12.

The trial concluded yesterday, Monday, 16 December, with Kelly found guilty of the offences and sentenced to two years and ten months in prison.

Kelly was charged with possession with intent to supply a class B controlled drug, cannabis, possession of a class A controlled drug, Cocaine, and possession of a class B drug, Amphetamine.

He was arrested after officers executed a warrant and recovered £5,375 in cash, a street value of £4,000 of cannabis, £240 of Cocaine and £150 of Amphetamine from his home address in Edlington on Tuesday, August 20.

PC Jo Butler said: “Drugs have an impact on the lives of residents and the local community. By removing them and Kelly from the area, it will hopefully improve the quality of life for them.
