A man fractured his eye socket and jaw in a fight outside an Edlington pub on Friday.

At around 11.20pm, a fight is believed to have occurred at the Tumbler pub on Broomhouse Lane.

It is thought to have started in the pub involving a number of men aged between 20 and 38-years-old.

The fight was eventually broken up and everyone went outside. The fighting then re-started outside the pub, moving further down Broomhouse Lane and eventually onto Lilac Crescent.

The disorder resulted a number of men being injured, including one man with a fractured eye socket and jaw and a depressed skull fracture, and two other men requiring stitches for head injuries and facial cuts and grazes.

The landlady of the Tumbler Pub said: “We are working with the police to assist with their investigation. This is not a regular occurrence in the pub and we do not condone this type of violence.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident in the pub, or afterwards in the street, to call 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 1479 of August 30, 2013.
