A MAN has died after suffering a suspected heart attack at the wheel of his car in a busy Doncaster road.
Police taped off part of a large housing estate close to a supermarket for several hours when the 64-year-old’s body was discovered.
Officers and ambulance crews were called to Goodison Boulevard in Cantley, near the Co-op store, by a passing member of the public.
Paramedics pronounced the man, who police said lived in Armthorpe, dead at the scene.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
A post mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday. A cause of death is expected to be recorded this week.
A force spokesman dismissed internet rumours that the man had been found stabbed.
Eyewitnesses said the man was slumped behind the wheel of a black Ford Mondeo.
Officers arrived at the scene just before 6.30pm on Sunday before they took the cordon down around 10pm, according to residents living nearby.
