POLICE have seized cannabis plants after raiding a house in Rossington.

Officers went into a house on Central Drive on Tuesday evening after getting a search warrant for the property.

Safer Neighbourhood Team officers recovered what officers described as a substantial number of cannabis plants and various pieces of cultivation equipment in the loft.

A man in his thirties has been arrested on suspicion of drug related offences.

Inspector Andrea Cowling from Rossington SNT said: “The cultivation of cannabis in residential and other properties within our communities is a growing concern for local residents. This search warrant is one of a number we have made recently in and around the Rossington area. Our communities should not be blighted by a small number of individuals who see cannabis cultivation as an easy way of making money. We will continue to take positive action against anyone involved in cultivating or dealing drugs.”

Anyone with information about drugs offences or have any concerns that a property near them is being used to produce or supply drugs, can contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
