A 62-year-old man sustained facial injuries after being punched and robbed in a town centre attack.

At around 1am on Monday 20 July, it is reported that the 62-year-old man was walking along Park Road when, at the junction with East Laithe Gate, he was approached by an unknown man.

It is alleged that the unknown man punched the 62-year-old, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect is believed to have taken his wallet before leaving the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the investigation.
