Two men from Doncaster have been given prison sentences totalling almost seven years for breaking into people’s homes.

Colin Richardson, aged 26, of Poplar Road, Skellow, pleaded guilty to a burglary he committed at a property on Moss Road in Askern on Friday, March 3.

He received a three year and nine month sentence when he appeared at Doncaster Crown Court.

Simon Smith, aged 22, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to a burglary he committed at a property on Kings Road near Doncaster town centre on Wednesday, July 10.

He was given a three year sentence by a judge at Sheffield Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Paul Dickinson, of Doncaster CID, said: “Burglary is a very intrusive crime that can leave the victims feeling vulnerable and unnerved in their own homes.

“I hope these sentences send out a clear message.”
