House raiders take valuable pottery

Burglars are thought to have stolen a valuable collection of pottery from a house in Highfields, Doncaster.

The occupier of the property, a 66-year-old man, was awoken by voices downstairs – and when he went to investigate he discovered most of his Royal Crown Derby collection had been stolen.

Police are appealing to the public to be cautious if offered any Royal Crown Derby items for sale.

The items reported stolen on April 5, included 26 large ornate plates, eight small ones, ornamental paperweights, an old gypsy wagon, two octagonal bowls, two dishes, a basket, two ginger jars, plus many other items. Call police on 101 quoting incident 1,244 of April or 0800 555111.
