House raid boy taken to court

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been ordered to complete a probation service course after he was caught red-handed breaking into a house.

The youth pleaded guilty to burglary at Doncaster Youth Court after neighbours called police after seeing him in the bedroom of a house in Linden Grove, Edlington, while the occupants were on holiday.

As officers arrived the boy from Edlington was climbing out of a broken window and was apprehended following a chase.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons was handed an eight month supervision order, following the break-in last month.

Speaking after the hearing sgt Richard Vernon said “This is an excellent result and a direct response from the public’s concern.

“The supervision order will make him think twice about his actions in the future.”
