Raiders broke into a Doncaster business’ premises and stole gardening equipment worth thousands of pounds.
Police are now investigating, after the raid took place from a nursery in the borough last week.
Police said that they had received reports that £7,500 worth of garden power tools were stolen from the nursery in Auckley.
The theft was believed to have happened on either Monday night or during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police are now urging any members of the public not to buy any of the stolen garden equipment if they are offered any of it by anyone.
A police spokesman said: “Officers believe that the premises were broken into and a number of garden strimmers, power washers, a heavy duty garden cultivator and a chainsaw were stolen.
“Police would like to ask anyone who is approached by someone offering to sell this type of equipment to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number A/60997/2013.”
