Friends used pedal power to celebrate the memory of a father-of-three who was killed in an attack in a pub.

Rob Hurdley, a father-of-three from Dinnington, died almost instantly after being punched in the head in The Don Jon pub, Maltby, Rotherham, last October.

Twelve of Rob’s friends cycled 41 miles for charity, starting at the Sheffield Wednesday ground and heading to Specsavers in Chesterfield, where Rob was manager.

The event – called Rob’s FBomb Challenge – was organised by Rob’s friend Simon Hill, aged 42, from North Anston.

All of the money raised will go to three charities supported by Rob – Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.
