Firefighters tackle series of arson attacks across South Yorkshire

Firefighters in South Yorkshire dealt with a spate of arson attacks last night and into this morning.

A recycling bin was set alight on Badger Drive,Woodhouse, Sheffield and a rubbish bin was torched on Midland Road, Royston, Barnsley.

Piles of rubbish were set on fire on the Manor estate, Toll Bar, Doncaster and in a yard on Main Street, Rotherham

Crews were called to a Peugeot 307 found burning on George Place, Rawmarsh, Rotherham at 2.30am today and to a Ford Fiesta on Tenyham Road, Shirecliffe, which suffered heat damage after a mattress was set alight nearby at around 2.40am.

A conifer found burning on Laudsdale Road, Dalton, Rotherham, at 4am was also deliberately set alight.
