Firefighters from Dearne station were called out after two cars were set on fire - and managed to stop the blaze from spreading to a garage containing gas cylinders.

The crew arrived at Wath Road in Bolton-upon-Dearne at 11.30pm on Tuesday night, to find two cars parked on a driveway had been separately set ablaze.

The Hyundai Atoz and Nissan Urvan people carrier were heavily ablaze.

But the firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to a nearby garage containing acetelyne cylinders, ensuring there would be no need to evacuate neighbouring houses.

After putting out the fires, they carried out an investigation which found they were started deliberately, before leaving the incident just before midnight.
