Doncaster man sustains fractured skull after attack

A 41-year-old Doncaster man is receiving treatment for a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain after being attacked whilst sleeping rough.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident that happened approximately 10.40pm on Friday outside the Clarks Corner Shop, Kings Road, Doncaster close to the junction with Broxholme Lane.

The man is currently in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

It is believed that he may have been sleeping rough at the location before being assaulted.

A 19-year-old man from Doncaster and a 21-year-old man from Wheatley, Doncaster have been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault, especially a man seen walking his dog or the driver of a silver or grey Vauxhall Zafira as they may hold information that will help with the investigation.
