Doncaster man mugged in Balby

A 58-year-old man has been robbed in a Balby alleyway.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which is reported to have taken place at around 10.10am on Sunday August, 3 when the man was walking down an alleyway that runs parallel to Balby Road, between Victoria Road and King Edward Road, Balby.

It is believed that an unknown man pulled at the 58-year-old’s clothing from behind, pulling a gold chain from his neck.

A small struggle followed, after which the unknown man ran away towards Florence Avenue.

The 58-year-old man fell to the floor, causing minor injuries.

The chain held a gold ring and both items are of sentimental value.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 436 of August 3 2014.
