Doncaster man loses sight in one eye after alleged assault

A man lost his sight in one eye after an alleged assault in Hexthorpe.

Police said the 31-year-old was allegedly attacked by a “number of individuals” in Ramsden Road, at the junction with Laughton Road.

The victim sustained serious injuries and has since lost his sight in one eye, which still requires ongoing medical treatment.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident, which happened on Monday, March 17, at 11.50pm.

A spokeswoman for the South Yorkshire force said: “One of the men who is alleged to have assaulted the 31-year-old is described as being a white man in his early 20s, of medium build, around 6ft tall, with short dark hair.

“Another man is described as being white, of muscular build, over 6ft tall, with short dark hair that was brushed forwards.”

A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and a 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
