A Doncaster man has been jailed for four and half years after admitting raping a 36-year-old woman.
Simon Robinson, aged 33, and from the Rossington area, admitted rape at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.
The victim was raped during the night of Monday, March 3, at a house in Intake.
Robinson was arrested and charged with rape within 48 hours of the offence being committed.
Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Sergeant Robert Platts, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “The sentence handed to Robinson reflects the gravity of his crime and by pleading guilty the victim will not suffer the further ordeal of this case going to trial.
“I hope the conclusion of proceedings has brought the victim some closure.”
