A Doncaster man has admitted two counts of child abduction after two underage missing girls were found at his flat.

Andrew Lakin, 19, of no fixed abode but formerly of Intake, pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday.

The two girls, both aged 14 at the time, were found separately at Lakin’s home in Lothian Road in September and October 2014.

The first girl was reported missing by her mum on the evening of 18 September 2014 after she failed to return home and a large-scale police search was launched to find her.

She was found by police at Lakin’s home at around 4am the following morning and he was arrested on suspicion of child abduction.

A second girl was reported missing on 13 October 2014 and was found at Lakin’s flat the following day.

Lakin was arrested and later charged with two counts of child abduction.

He will be sentenced on Tuesday 17 March.
