Doncaster Crime round up, July 17 - Man speeds off on stolen lawn mower

The following crimes were reported to police on July 17 and July 17. Anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101.

Woodlands: A thief demolished a fence as he drove a ride-on lawn mower right thrown it to escape from a house on Princess Street. The man was stealing the mower, and ploughed right through the fence and into nearby school fields, between 9pm on Tuesday and 2.30pm on Wednesday. Police are appealing for information.

Bentley: Hundreds of pounds of damage were caused in an arson attack on sheds at the allotments on Pipering Lane. Police say flammable liquid had been poured on the sheds before they were set alight.

Town centre: A computer games console and games were stolen in a burglary on Welbeck Road between 11pm on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday. The raider got inside through an insecure door, say police. They items taken were valued at £1,000.

Bentley: Raiders who broke into a garage on Winipeg Road, Bentley, took a mountain bike, lawn mower, tool box and garden power tools. They broke the lock on the building between 11.45am and 5pm.

Blaxton: Two BMX bikes were stolen from a driveway on Lower Pastures. The cycles, which belonged to children, had been left out between 5pm on Monday and 7am on Wednesday.

Scawthorpe: Two children’s BMX bikes were taken by thieves after being left out in a garden on Butterscotch Walk. They are thought to have been taken between 4.30pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday.

Wheatley. Thieves cut the chain of a mountain bike to steal it from outside a house on Gloucester Road in the early hours of this morning. The owner had heard a noise outside and found the bike had been taken when he went out to see what was happening.
